Global Volunteering Leadership Summit
Organised as part of IAVE’s 50th anniversary and coinciding with the UAE’s Golden Jubilee, IAVE and the Emirates Foundation are pleased to host the Global Volunteering Leadership Summit on Dec 3-6, 2021!
Attended by invited representatives of national volunteering leadership organizations from 50 countries, the summit will provide a forum for strategic discussion on the future of volunteering. The theme for this summit is “The Role of Volunteering Leadership: Responding to COVID-19 and Building a Sustainable Recovery”.
Providing a forum for strategic discussion on the future of volunteering, this important event is the first time the Global Network for Volunteer Leaders (GNVL) will be able to gather in person since the COVID pandemic began, while also being an important time for volunteering as the world deals with the impact of the pandemic while planning for post-COVID-19 recovery.
The event will be a precursor to the 26th IAVE World Volunteer Conference, the largest global gathering of volunteer experts and practitioners, which will be hosted in Abu Dhabi towards the end of 2020 having been postponed from 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Being held in the Middle East for the first time, the much- anticipated 50th Anniversary of the World Conference will attract thousands of participants representing stakeholders of the volunteer community from around the world, sharing and exploring how working together as agents of change they can provide the practical action that builds hope and resilience, improves lives and strengthens communities.
