IAVE is excited to announce that, starting this month, Eva Halper is joining Lorrie Foster as a director of the Global Corporate Volunteer Council (GCVC), IAVE’s leadership network for global companies committed to volunteering.
Eva’s career has spanned the fields of education, sustainable development and philanthropy. During seven years in China, she worked for an international development agency where she was responsible for funding grassroots projects in education, health, agriculture and animal husbandry. In 1998, she moved to the UK to work in the nonprofit sector, focusing on cross-sector partnerships with multi-nationals to address social and educational issues in the UK and globally. In 2008, she was recruited to develop and lead two flagship programs for the foundation of an international Swiss bank: a global education initiative and an international skills-based volunteering program for the bank’s employees.
Eva was a member of GCVC for over ten years, including a member of its Leadership Committee for several years. “The GCVC network is a valuable resource for all volunteer managers—whatever level of experience,” Eva said. It is “one of the very few global forums where we can learn from each other, support each other and also be up to date on the latest thinking and practice in corporate employee engagement,” she said.
Eva is fluent in English, French, and Polish, with intermediate proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. She and Lorrie will be alternating working days, with some overlap. You may contact her at [email protected].
