IAVE 21st World Volunteer Conference Workshop 313: The Adaptive Challenges of Managing Conflicts

IAVE IRC

We often see conflict and disagreement in a negative light and approach negotiation as if it were a battle. Our counterparts make the same assumptions and so our assumptions become true. However, conflict and negotiation can also be important moments where differences are articulated and acknowledged, and creative solutions are crafted through stragic cooperation. To make negotiations an effective tool requires careful planning and analysis. This workshop will outline the 7 Elements Framework, a powerful framework for analysing and preparing for negotiations that are productive as they are combative.
