32nd CCIVS General Assembly and Congress, 4–10 December 2012 Mexico

The 2012 CCIVS General Conference and Assembly took place in San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico, from the 4th to the 10th of December, hosted by NATATE Voluntariado Internacional A.C.

The leading topic for the conference workshops, discussions and decisions was "Cultural Heritage and Diversity". Heritage is a symbolic and catalystic theme for 2012 – which also marks the 40th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention - bringing further recognition and visibility to CCIVS members’ work and cooperation on different, interdependent themes, from peace and sustainability to social inclusion and poverty reduction. 

The choice of Mexico brought the CCIVS General Conference and Assembly back to the American continent, where it was last hosted more than 30 years ago, in 1978 in Panama.
